ABOUT AFTERSCHOOL

The Boys & Girls Club at Foundation For Youth provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive outside of school hours. Through research-informed programming, youth build the skills they need for academic success, healthy lifestyles, social-emotional growth, and future readiness. Our programs are intentionally designed to reduce risk factors, strengthen protective factors, and ensure every child has access to meaningful opportunities that support long-term success.

Our after school program serves youth grades K-12 (Juniors, Seniors, Super Seniors, and Teens) and begins each day at 2:35p.m. When members arrive, they are welcomed into a supportive environment with secure electronic check-in for safety and attendance tracking. Each participant receives a nutritious evening meal through a grant-supported dinner program, followed by a supplemental snack at the end of the day. This added support helps fuel youth throughout the afternoon and evening so they can feel their best and fully engage in programming. The daily schedule is intentionally structured to balance movement, academic support, and targeted skill-building.

A Typical Afternoon at the Boys & Girls Club

2:30–4:00 p.m. | Power Hour

Power Hour helps members transition from the school day through supervised recreation, social connection, homework support, and structured activities that provide a healthy outlet for energy, support emotional regulation, and prepare them for focused learning.

Members participate in two one-hour rotations, choosing different enrichment opportunities based on their interests. Options include Arts & Crafts, the Maker Studio, Computer Lab, Athletics, Gardening, Swimming, and more.

6:00–6:30 p.m. | Free Play & Snack
