WHY VOLUNTEER?

As Arthur Ashe wisely said, “Start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can.” By volunteering, you help create a safe, supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Your time and dedication contribute to programs that educate, build life skills, and connect children with caring adult mentors who inspire them to reach their full potential.

There are many ways to get involved, including project-based volunteering such as trail work, painting, maintenance, cleaning, or other projects at CYC or FFY locations; sharing your professional skills in areas like construction, project management, facilities or safety management, human resources, STEM, mechanical work, finance, and more; supporting youth directly through tutoring, homework help, mentoring, TBRI Camp, teaching classes like gardening, cooking, baking, music, arts/crafts, STEAM, or Maker’s Studio, or coaching team sports; volunteering for special events such as Bowl For Kids’ Sake, Great Girls Wonderful Women, or Prevention Palooza; or serving as a board or committee member to help guide youth development and make a lasting impact.

BECOME A COACH!

Foundation For Youth is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help support our youth and adult sports programs. If you have experience, knowledge, or simply a love for the game, we’d love to have you on our team! Volunteers help create a positive, encouraging environment where players can grow, learn, and have fun. Opportunities are available with our K–2 Basketball League, 3–12 Basketball League, K–12 Volleyball League, Payne Stewart Golf Experience (Grades K–4 Division), and Adult Basketball League. Volunteers must be available for one hour, twice a week and have experience or knowledge of the sport; a passion for mentoring and supporting players is a plus. Training is provided!

BECOME A MENTOR. CHANGE A LIFE.

Volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters! Every child has incredible potential—sometimes they just need someone to help them see it. As a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters, you can make a lasting, positive impact simply by showing up, listening, and sharing everyday moments.

Why Volunteer?

  • Help a young person build confidence and resilience

  • Create meaningful, one-on-one connections

  • Make a difference just by being yourself

  • Flexible time commitment—just a few hours a month!

What Do Bigs Do? It’s simple: Spend time with your Little. Whether it’s shooting hoops, doing homework, exploring a hobby, or grabbing ice cream, your presence can change the direction of a child’s life.

COMMUNITY CAREER DAY PRESENTERS

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to participate in our ongoing career presentations and help inspire our Club Kids by sharing their career experiences. Volunteers will visit the Boys & Girls Club to talk about what they do, how they got there, and what skills or interests are helpful in their field.

This is a great opportunity to encourage curiosity, confidence, and big dreams in kids by showing them the many paths their future can take. No formal presentation experience is required—just a positive attitude and a willingness to engage with students in an age-appropriate, interactive way.

Volunteers may answer questions, share stories, bring simple visuals or tools from their job, and help students connect school subjects to real-world careers. Your time and perspective can make a lasting impact!

In this role, you’ll teach beginner-to-intermediate coding concepts, break down complex problems into simple steps, and support students using tools such as Python, JavaScript, Scratch, or similar platforms. The ideal candidate has strong coding fundamentals, communicates technical ideas clearly and patiently, and brings a reliable, positive, and encouraging attitude to every session. TUTORS NEEDED!

We’re looking for caring, patient volunteers to tutor our Club Kids and help them build confidence in subjects like math, reading, science, and general homework skills. Tutors support learners during weekday sessions from 3:00–5:00pm, creating encouraging “aha!” moments while making a meaningful difference after school. Ideal volunteers are kind, good listeners who understand that learning can be challenging and sometimes awkward, and who enjoy helping others grow. This is a rewarding opportunity to give back, gain valuable experience for resumes and college applications, and be part of a positive, supportive environment where you can truly change a student’s day—and their future.

In this role, you’ll support users as they safely explore tools and equipment while working on projects like 3D printing, resin printing, and engraving—encouraging experimentation, problem-solving, and new skill development along the way. Ideal volunteers are curious, patient, creative, and enjoy helping others, teamwork, and hands-on projects (no expert experience required!). Join a fun, innovative community where you can gain experience with maker technology, enjoy flexible hours, and build skills that look great on resumes while helping turn amazing ideas into reality.
