OUR STORY

The Columbus Youth Camp was founded on March 28, 1935 when Q.G. Noblitt, local industrialist, presented Foundation for Youth the deed to the 70-acre property and a sizable donation for development.  The Civilian Conservation Corps began work on a lake, several trails, and six log cabins.  The camp was dedicated in 1937 and the first camp session was held that very summer.

In 1958, Lowell Engelking, a former FFY president, donated 40 more acres to the camp.  This allowed the camp to continue to grow.  In addition to summer camps, other groups began using the facilities for retreats, team building, family reunions, and other community gatherings.
Today, the Columbus Youth Camp boasts 137 acres of rolling landscape, 15 of which are developed with several miles of trails linking eleven cabins, challenge courses, the lake, outdoor amphitheater, shelter house, science lab, and the Reeves Conference Center.
